Satya Dunning - Conference Support

10 January 2025

The Master Court was delighted to be able to support Glasgow resident Satya Dunning with a grant towards the cost of attending the Oxford Real Farming Conference, held in Oxford on the weekend 9-10 January 2025.

Satya commented:

"The conference was spread across nine venues close to each other, with a variety of workshops happening in 19 studios, looking at different aspects of the food system, farming practices, land, people, innovations, and more. I took away a clarity and hope that farmers and growers are the keystone to peace. In the open plenary, six farmers spoke about a word which represented what the conference meant to them. These were solidarity, sovereignty, love, inclusion, wisdom and resistance. I realised that they were actually talking about their guiding living principle in their relationship with the land, nature from plants, animals to humans. I realised that the more each of us can be clear about what really matters to us, what our values or guiding principles are, what makes us alive and connected to purpose, each other and ourselves, the more we can begin to create the world that we know is possible as Charles Eisenstein has previously hinted.

I am grateful for the bursary and support by the Incorporation of Gardeners of Glasgow, ORFC, Glasgow Community Food Network and other supporters. My sincere thanks to them. I am renewed in my hope and vision to learn more horticultural skills from agroecology, biodynamic gardening, buy land, and grow a biodynamic community garden for and with women experiencing disadvantage."

The Incorporation wishes Satya every success in her next steps in world of horticulture.
